I'm waiting for the inevitable "Why is xxx on the list??!?!?" When we talk about guitar, people often jump to the conclusion that we're talking about "rock guitar." But the guitar has become central in many different musical styles. That being said, if it were up to me I'd probably try to squeeze Eric Clapton in there somewhere, but I've heard/watched most of these players (excepting Wes and Merle) and think that these are all strong offerings. Yeah, and Chet Atkins is pretty amazing. Hey, great list. He wrote some of the greatest tunes in PunkRock/Rock+Roll history! London Calling! But they were put together with pretty simple chords...He was just very clever how he put all the parts together! Take an E, G, A, D and maybe a B minor and he'd put together a great tune! I...I've really come to appreciate that as I've gotten older.
